An Equipping Church
Most church staff function under the mantra: “We do, you help” seeking to recruit volunteers. Waypoint, however, seeks to empower people so our attitude is “You do, we help.” All the opportunities at Waypoint to get involved and participate are intentionally about giving you a space to figure out how you can use your faith out in the real world. It’s not what the church needs, because we can go a Sunday without donuts, not have the tables in place, and even have all the kids in worship. Email info@waypointcommunity.org and we will get you in contact with the ministry coordinators.

Check out our Church Center app (download) for ways to connect.
We use small groups as launching points for your mission to go and serve Christ daily.
Greeters
Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” — Romans 15:7
Purpose: Welcome others as Christ has welcomed you.
Contact: Dowling McConnell
This is what hospitality is about. The way into Waypoint is through relationships, because in the Gospel we see that pathway was laid out by Christ: Strangers became friends and friends became brothers and sisters in Christ.
Set-up and Tear Down
I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you” — John 14:2
Purpose: I go to prepare a place for you.
Contact: Mark Hollowell
Set-up demonstrates how Christ has gone ahead of us to prepare us a place. By setting up the chairs, moving the equipment, putting up signs, and helping with other logistical tasks, it lets others know we are ready for them.
BaseCamp
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” — Prov. 22:6
Purpose: To equip children and their parents with the basics of the Gospel.
Contact: Katie Parker
BaseCamp is our kids ministry, which provides children one of their first experiences with God’s word. The compelling lessons stir up their curiosity and their tender hearts become receptive to the gospel message. You don’t have to be a Bible expert to serve, just someone who is eager to make an impact in a child’s life.
Prayer and Praise
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…” — 1 Peter 3:15
Purpose: Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
Contact: Chip Cash
Praise and Prayer is being ready in season and out of season to give an account for your faith. No one will “boo” you after you share, but instead it is a space to try on God language and show others where God is at work in your life in big and small ways.
Meal Team
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” — Psalm 34:8
Purpose: Helping folks during hard times to taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
Contact: Dowling McConnell
The Meal Team steps up and provides for the physical needs of people within our community during difficult times. Whether they are celebrating the birth of their child with sleepless nights, facing the unknowns of medical treatments or grieving the loss of a loved one, this team shows up on their doorstep to let them know that the love of Christ is with them.
Community Groups
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” — Matthew 18:20
Purpose: Spending intentional time in study, prayer and fellowship with others.
Contact: Chip Cash
In order for a church to feel like home, people need to know at least five other people by name. By investing into the lives of other people through community groups, we are able to know others, know God and even know ourselves better.
Community Groups
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
Purpose: Lift up the prayer needs of our community.

“Our prayers for others flow more easily than those for ourselves. This shows we are made to live by love.” C.S Lewis
